Wyoming High Country Mule Deer Hunting.
When someone talks about high country mule deer hunting, WYOMING REGION G, AND H are usually the front discussion of the topic. the Wyoming range mule deer heard has produced more B&C mule deer entries than almost any other deer heard in the world. despite some of the bad winters and the decline in the deer heard, we are still regularly hunting some 200" deer each year.
This hunt is not for everyone. This hunt is just as mentally tough as it is physically. these deer have learned to evade extreme amounts of hunting pressure from a young age. The older they get the harder they are to kill. These units are big, and full of rough, rough country, making it hard to cover all of it.
To regularly be successful in these units you must first locate a target buck.(easier said than done) if your looking for that buck that's of the next level, this will not come easy. it can some time take us days upon days of scouting to find just one of our target bucks. we spend countless days(almost every day) in the preseason scouting. once we find our target deer we regularly check up on them and watch from a distance, learning their routines and habits.
Then comes the hard part. (Harvesting the buck).
opening weekend in reg G,and H is very over crowded with hunting pressure, displacing the bucks from natural summer routine. we have learned to hunt around these situations to the best of the circumstances.
somtimes it just takes days of sitting behind your optics and being patiente, other times completely changing strategies. sometimes your target deer gets killed by another hunter, and then what?

Greys River Outfitters offers both archery and rifle hunts, we only take a limited number of hunters each week out of each camp. If you are an Avid Archery hunter ask about our high country spot and stalk archery hunt. this is an extreme hunt. it gives you the ability to hunt some of the bucks before they are pressured up. high opportunity percentage. this is not a hunt for the guy that casually picks up his bow a month before season , this is for the guys who are dedicated to bow hunting and shoots year round. (very limited number of spots available)
Our rifle hunts are both physically and mentally challenging. you WILL
be pushed to your limits.
we are mainly hunting pre-season scouted bucks.
when we head up the trail each morning we have a specific plan for a specific buck. sometimes due to changing variables that plan can change. this hunt is a 5 day hunt.when hunting a certain buck you must mentally be prepared to hunt all 5 days giving it your all. we ask that each hunter sticks to his standards leaving it all on the table. if you will focus on the hunt and the experience you will have a successful hunt weather you kill a buck or not. Our main goal is to give you an experience you can get nowhere else. An experience that will better you as man, or woman. the friendships and relations we have made over the years is countless. there are somethings you can't put a price on. we look forward to building relations and friend ships with new clients , and building upon those of repeat clients and friends
Trip Information
We will provide transportation to and from the Jackson hole Air port.
you must arrive to camp the afternoon before your scheduled hunt date, and will depart the morning after your scheduled hunt dates.
we provide all meals and lodging. Lodging consist of wall tent, with cots and pads and wood burning stoves.
we have hot running water and shower house.
we provide all livestock, tack and livestock equipment.
your guide will be responsible for taking care of your meat and packing it off the mountain. (butchering and meat processing is responsibility of the licensed hunter.
caping off the skull and hanging of meat and antlers is your guides responsibility
